- Novato is a city located in northern Marin County,
California. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total
population of 47,630.
The city is home to the Buck Institute for Age Research,
Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, DriveSavers data recovery,
as well as being the birthplace of Battlebots. Novato
was the home of Broderbund software, but both the education
and entertainment divisions moved to separate locations
in San Francisco when they were subdivided and sold
to Riverdeep and UbiSoft respectively by Gores Technology
Group.

average family size is 3.01.
