- Brunswick is a city located in Glynn County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census,
the city had a total population of 15,600. The city is an important port city
on the Atlantic Coast and is the county seat of Glynn County. Plans for the city's
streets and squares were laid out following Georgia's founder James Oglethorpe's
Savannah Plan in 1771. The city was once called The Shrimp Capital of the World,
due to the many tasty wild shrimp harvested in its local waters.

someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.46 and
the average family size is 3.13.
In the city the population is spread out with 27.3% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24,
27.1% from 25 to 44, 20.2% from 45 to 64, and 15.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median
age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 88.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over,
there are 82.8 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $22,272, and the median income for a family is
$28,564. Males have a median income of $26,172 versus $18,602 for females. The per capita income
