About Joliet - Joliet is a city located in both Will and Kendall County, Illinois and is a suburb southwest of Chicago. It is the county seat of Will County. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 106,221; a 2003 special census revealed the city's population to be 120,782.

The average household size is 2.81 and the average family size is 3.39.

In the city the population is spread out with 29.5% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 33.1% from 25 to 44, 16.3% from 45 to 64, and 11.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 98.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.3 males.
